Julia Jones

Julia Jones is a 22 year old violinist from New York City. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Itzhak Perlman and Laurie Smukler. She is also under the mentorship of Viktor Tretyakov. In fall 2026, she will continue her studies at Juilliard, pursuing a Master of Music degree with the same professors.
Julia has participated in many prestigious festivals and programs such as the International Music Academy in Cremona, International Academy of Music in Castelnuovo di Carfagnana, Crans-Montana Classics Masterclasses, Concertate Masterclasses, Kaufman Music Center’s SummerFest, Taipei Music Academy and Festival, The Perlman Music Program, Pacific Music Festival and served as concertmaster for their Program A concerts.
In September 2025, Julia attended the Kronberg Academy Violin and Viola Masterclass as an active participant in Mihaela Martin’s studio. This past October, Julia also took part in North Shore Chamber Music Festival’s “ Art of Collaboration” Workshop, run by Angela Yoffe. In May 2026 Julia attended Kronberg Chamber Music Connects the World Festival. In the summer 2026 Julia will be attending Chamber Music Workshop at the Perlman Music Program, Gstaad Menuhin Festival Academy, and in July 2026 she is invited to perform at the Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival. Julia has also taken part in esteemed events such as the annual gala for the Kaufman Music Center, the Dorothy DeLay Masterclass Series, the Online Shlomo Mintz String Academy, and Joshua Bell’s “Musical Evening” fundraising event. In 2019, she was invited to perform the Bach Double Concerto with European Youth Spirit Orchestra (EYSO) in various locations in Italy with conductor Igor Coretti Kuret. Julia has also given solo recitals at Christ Church, NYC, Ann Goodman Hall at the Kaufman Music Center, the University of
Albany, Hohenprießnitz in Germany, and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italy.
Since young age Julia has participated in many national and international competitions. She is a major prize winner of the National MTNA Competition, VIVO International Music Competition, Washington National Youth Competition, the 3rd Oskar Rieding International Competition for Young Musicians, the Lyra Competition, Singapore Violin Festival Competition, Grand Prize at the 7th New York International Music Concours, Grand Prize at New York Artists International Competition, Second Grand Prize at the Chicago International Music Competition, She is also a laureate of the Second International Viktor Tretiakov Competition and First Prize winner at the “Victoria BCN” Competition in Barcelona, Spain, was set to give a solo recital in the Victoria Music Center in November 2024. In 2025 Julia became a semi-finalist at the Hengqin(Zhuhai) International Mozart
Competition, and participated in the Sendai International Violin Competition.
In January 2026 Julia became Forth Prize winner at the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition and College Division Co-winner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition. As a winner of the Kaufman Music Center Concerto Competition Julia performed at Merkin Hall with orchestra conducted by Nathan Hetherington, and as the winner of the Special Music School High School Concerto Competition, performed J. Sibelius Violin Concerto with Park Avenue Chamber Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Bernard.
Julia has participated in masterclasses with Dmitri Berlinsky, Felix Andrievsky, Vadim Gluzman, Catherine Cho, Shlomo Mintz, Cihat Askin, Sungsic Yang, Almita Vamos, Natalia Likhopoi, Viktor Tretiakov, Cho-Liang Lin, Gregory Kalinovsky, Sheryl Staples, Philippe Quint, Ani Kavafian, Midori, David Chan, Frank Huang, Hilary Hahn, and Mihaela Martin. Besides solo performing, Julia is also an avid chamber musician, having performed in Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall, The Juilliard School’s Morse and Paul Hall, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, the Kitara Small Hall in Sapporo, Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium, Weill Carnegie Hall’s, Zankel Hall, and Casals Forum in Kronberg with
various chamber groups.
